From the road to Corte Sapa, start heading downhill, cross the stream and then climb to the Centrale della Cippata (a hydroelectric power station) which you will keep to your left. Start along the trail (L02), climbing steeply into the woods until reaching the crest’s summit, which opens onto the pretty clearing of Alpe Carvirone. From here, start along the long hillside stretch as it heads uphill to Isorno Valley, passing by Alpe Salè. The view towards Scheggia is a wonderful snapshot of dolomitic scenery. Finally the trail reaches Alpe Forgnone and with one last climb, you arrive to the pass and the small lake of Forgnone. A steep downhill walk will bring you to the dam of Lake Larecchio. Below the dam, a pretty trail leads into the woods, gradually descending first on the right bank, then on the left bank until arriving at the bridge below Alpe Cortone. Cross the bridge and head uphill to the alpine chalets and keep going in this direction. Shortly after, the trail will come to a recently made service road for the hydroelectric station. Take this track as it leads along the side of Lake Merlata, ascends for a bit, then descends again to Faugiol Bridge, continuing on to Agarina. To return to Corte Sapa from here, follow the paved road.
Notes: Corte Sapa is located on a paved road from the Agarina Valley which is closed to traffic. During the summer it is possible to go down the road only on a few specific days.
